A country with a vast pool of IT professionals, India has a long-standing culture of placing a high value on education and academic achievements, helping its youth acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen fields internationally.
In recent years, there has been a remarkable rise in the number of Indian-born CEOs leading some of the most prominent technology companies in Silicon Valley, an internationally-known region in Northern California, United States, considered a global headquarters for digitalization and high-tech innovation. From Google's Sundar Pichai to Satya Nadella at Microsoft, these young individuals have broken geographic barriers and played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of the technology industry.
The phenomenon begs the question: why do Indian-born CEOs dominate Silicon Valley?
Culture of Education and Excellence

Indian-born individuals often pursue higher education in prestigious institutions in India and abroad. This emphasis on education and a non-stop drive for excellence help them acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen fields internationally.

The organizational culture in India places a strong emphasis on hard work and perseverance. Indian-born CEOs often exhibit a relentless work ethic, dedicating long hours to their craft and demonstrating a commitment to achieving their short- and long-term goals. This work ethic, along with their technical expertise, allows them to navigate Silicon Valley’s demanding and competitive environment effectively.
