On January 6, 2021, the world witnessed the most organic form of terrorism in the world. It was organic because it was not fuelled by any indoctrination effort from outside the U.S. No foreign funding came in the country to indoctrinate the people and lead them towards violence in order to achieve their political and religious objectives. It was homegrown raw terrorism committed, not by ISIS or Al Qaeda, but by the very Americans who consider themselves as purer Americans than others. These men and women were not driven to commit terrorism by some online recruiter working for ISIS or by the sermons of some religious cult leader. Rather, they were fed an immense amount of lies by their own president whom they had elected 4 years ago. That is the real reason why it should be called domestic terrorism.

The call to violence was issued, not from a cave in Tora Bora but from inside the United States. There was no turbaned man with a raw beard but a con artist with raw hair. President Trump in a speech egged on his cult followers by calling them to create mayhem. Trump said, “We are going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women and we are probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them — because you will never take back our country with weakness.”

Well, the physical strength was shown by the mob in a manner that brought down the moral standing of America tremendously. Trump had always advocated that America would be respected more because of his presidency. America lost respect even its own eyes. The mob displayed weakness, not strength. The breaking of the windows represented the breaking of the norms of decency that have defined the American democratic transition.

Just as the Jihadists believe that the West is out to fight against Islam, the terrorist mob also genuinely believed that the deep state in Washington DC stole the election from Donald Trump. Their anger was directed at an injustice that is only a figment of their imagination. However, the lie does not change the truth. Despite the disgrace that Trump found himself in, the ugly truth was that over 70 million Americans voted for him.

Negative energy was created by the lies of Donald Trump. As his former fixer Michael Cohen once said that in order to know when Trump is lying, there is a simple rule to follow: everytime Trump opens his mouth, immense lies land America in a quagmire. The country’s legislature was invaded not by foreign tanks or terrorists’ planes, but by American citizens who were born and raised in America.

American-YouthiaAmerica went on a high alert to protect itself from its own citizens. More than 20 thousand National Guard members were deployed in Washington DC to protect the Biden inauguration. That speaks volumes about where the real war against terrorism was being fought. Donald Trump had always advocated ‘America First’ and American labour and products to be preferred over foreign ones. Well, he did achieve one outlandish milestone, that now even the terrorists are American instead of foreign.

Trump was reportedly gleeful with the barbaric actions of the mob. That hardly comes as a surprise because every terrorist leader pats his moronic followers on their backs especially after they have committed something stupid by the normal standards of the sane world.

Trump goes down in history as the only president to be impeached twice. The second time, the impeachment had more support than the first one. There is another bizarre truth to deal with. America has always been divided along various issues. No country is fully united behind a single cause. But the earlier divisions were over a variety of issues such as foreign policy, women’s rights, healthcare, education, war, economy, jobs, and so forth. This time around, it is a macro division: us versus them, which sounds more like unity over some major cause. But the problem is that that unity is for all the wrong reasons.

America actually is more unified today, sadly, against the truth. There is one massive divide between the lunatics and the rest of the Americans. There are believers of conspiracy theories such as that the deep state is out to get them and that they must take their country back and on the other side are the rest of the Americans who are still trying to make sense of what the heck happened. America is divided and also united, for all the wrong reasons.

The prophetic words of Noam Chomsky who had warned of this scenario years before Trump was elected, are:“If somebody comes along who is charismatic and honest this country is in real trouble because of the frustration, disillusionment, the justified anger and the absence of any coherent response. What are people supposed to think if someone says ‘I have got an answer, we have an enemy’? There it was the Jews. Here it will be the illegal immigrants and the blacks. We will be told that white males are a persecuted minority. We will be told we have to defend ourselves and the honour of the nation. Military force will be exalted. People will be beaten up. This could become an overwhelming force. And if it happens it will be more dangerous than Germany.”
