War of Words

Cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi again got into a war of words. Said Gambhir, “Someone who doesn’t remember his age how will he remember my records!”He was apparently responding to a passage from Shahid Afridi’s autobiography, ‘Game Changer’ in which he had written that Gambhir had no special records to speak of.

Her Second Home

Margaux McDonald was Canada’s trade commissioner to Pakistan. In just two years she fell in love with the country and called it her second home. Now back in Canada, she has tweeted that she missed the wonderful people of Pakistan and wished them good health and perseverance. Margaux’s stay in Pakistan was a happy one as she met some amazing people.

Crisis of Hatred

Indian novelist Arundhati Roy has claimed that the Covid-19 pandemic had exposed India’s crisis of hatred against the Muslims.

She has said the Indian government was exploiting the pandemic to ramp up suppression of Muslims, comparing the tactic to the one used by the Nazis. She accused the Indian government of exploiting the coronavirus outbreak to inflame tensions between the Hindus and Muslims.

"This crisis of hatred against Muslims," she said, "comes on the back of a massacre in Delhi, which was the result of people protesting against the anti-Muslim citizenship law.”

Just a Truck-load

Singer Abrarul Haq says he would do an online concert for a truckload of charity – food that he would distribute to the under-privileged affected by Covid-19.

He said he had received an inquiry from the US about an online concert. He replied that he would not charge for the concert but would need a truck-load of food items for the poor.
